Goodbye motor...

Wednesday was Shawn's last day as a motor officer for the city of Moreno Valley. We went to the luncheon they had for him at his work, but on Tuesday evening when he came home I took pictures of him on the bike and the kids too since it would be his last time bringing it home. It is bitter sweet. He really loves being a motor and loves his team, but he is very excited to move on to something new.

**Yes, Caleb is in his pajamas in these pictures. He's been sick and in our house, being sick means you can stay in your jammies all day! No exceptions!

Shawn's new position is a little known position. The team he is working with is called RAID. He is the only officer in the entire Riverside Sheriff's Dept to hold this position. The other members of the team are comprised of one person from every agency within Riverside County (City of Riverside, CHP, City of Beaumont, etc). Their purpose is to investigate and bust chop-shops. They recover stolen vehicles and work closely with insurance agencies. They also do the "bait car" operation you may have seen on TV where they set up a car and leave it running with the keys in it. If a person "takes the bait" and steals the car, a remote controlled by Shawn's team locks the doors and turns that car off and the person is arrested. There is a show on some cable channel that shows this, it's really cool!

Needless to say, he is VERY excited. And I am very proud of him, he really deserves it. Nolan is convinced Shawn is no longer a police man since the motorcycle is gone and Daddy isn't wearing a uniform anymore (another HUGE job perk for Shawn!). It's going to take some explaining!
